“Here's a video of the current problem. xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media Mods I have done that worked fine for the last 6 months. Vacuum pump delete Egr delete, plugged and manifold swapped Turbo spring added, calibrated with added boost gauge Aftermarket air intake 2 gauge power to starter, alternator, fuse box connecting both batteries.”View original
“I had to carry it back to the salvage yard while they worked to find an actual 1996 door for me, which worked. All I had to do was swap the interior panel and the wiring for the automatic locks (the donor vehicle didn't have power locks).”View original
“Everything was running fine until I accidentally ran down the batteries. After recharging it, it spazzed out blinking all of the dash lights sequentially except the wait to to start glow plug light when you turn the key to run the beeping beeps with the gauge lights flashing.”View original
“I wish you well in this endevour. All I can contribute is that even though the GMT800 series has a lot of commonality from 1999 to 2006, there will be minor variations that may bite you in the butt making this kind of swap.”View original
“Also check for a short in the blower wiring. You never said what year vehicle we are dealing with here, but my 1996 C1500 has had some wiring issues lately, including in the blower circuit, and some broken grounds.”View original

“My DRIVERS seat (60/40 split bench) on my 1996 C1500 has this same problem. It's stuck somewhere like 1/3 of the way from the very front of the track, and only seems to slide an inch or two either way when the release is pulled.”View original
“I am talking here about the adjusting mechanism - not the tilt/slide release. I had the tilt/slide stop working on my passenger side front seat, and it was a broken cable/spring that ran between the two sides of the mechanism under the seat.”View original
“Just speculating here, but could the external oil cooler be clogged and causing a restriction in the flow of oil through the system? I also have an old GMT400 as well (1996 C1500 5.0L) and read a lot about folks bypassing the oil coolers on these older trucks to get rid of leaks and other problems.”View original
“If you're talking about my comment, it was more about the AWD conversion (although it is cool) and the paint color (also cool). I personally aspire to build a "454 SS tribute" someday with a '96-'98 c1500 and a Vortec 454.”View original
