What is P0507?

P0507 indicates your engine's idle control system is running at higher RPMs than expected, which is a powertrain issue of medium severity. This typically occurs when the engine computer cannot properly regulate idle speed, often due to vacuum leaks or sensor problems. Based on real owner data, this code appears frequently in Honda Accord, Nissan Maxima, and Jeep Liberty models.

Common Causes:

  • Vacuum leaks in the intake system (commonly mentioned in repair discussions)
  • Faulty idle air control valve (IACV) or throttle body issues
  • Dirty or malfunctioning mass airflow sensor (MAF)

Symptoms:

  • Engine idling at higher RPM than normal (most common symptom)
  • Check engine light illuminated with possible drivability issues
  • Vehicle shuddering or rough operation at idle (reported in CR-V cases)

This time 2282 showed up, and after checking my intake everything seems fine again. I cleared the code, the car seems to run fine, but it continues to pop up.

Idle revs and climbs up slowly to around 1400 after sitting for a minute in the stop light followed by check engine. Now, i do have a occ but i double check it and replaced the hoses and made sure everything was tight.
