I don't have a lift and a garage to drop the trans and do the job. I always have to do it in my front yard out in the open with jack-stands and it's a 8-10 hour job getting the truck all jacked up nice and high and safe, do everything it takes to get the trans off all to replace a $5 bearing and then putting it all back together.

Pilot bearing question So I originally had a 2003 Ford Ranger 2.3L manual trans that I bought from my dad back around 2008 that had similar problems as the Mazda ranger clone of the same year that I have now.

After about 2 weeks the check engine light came on and stayed on. The truck then started to bog down and have no power sometimes. (not always) I used my scanner and got o2 sensor, maf sensor, restricted egr flow, and failure in cid circuit.

I checked the egr hoses and they were filled with powdery substance. i figure some kind of corrosion. So replaced those hoses along with the o2, Maf, egr pressure differential feedback sensor and tried to clean the egr system.

Recently it doesn't always start when I turn the ignition knob. The lights on the dash come on when the knob passes the first click, but when it reaches the start position nothing happens.

If I back the switch up and try again, usually it will fire right up. Now it sometimes takes two tries to start, and I'm worried eventually it will just give up and not start at all.

Does that eliminate the clutch interlock switch as the source of the problem? I planned to replace the ignition switch anyway because it's getting pretty loose.

Is it possible to have the new ignition rekeyed so I don't have to have a separate key for the doors and ignition? Also, I see it's possible to pick up an ignition switch for a 1995 Ranger much cheaper than a B2300.
